Luxe was already one of the most advanced themes available and we’ve now made it even better. Luxe 6.0.0 features updates and refinements to keep Luxe at the forefront of UX trends and best practices. We are also constantly listening to user feedback and suggestions from merchants too – so this update includes a number of features requested by existing Luxe users. This update also includes several technical updates/fixes to ensure compatibility with recent browser updates from Google Chrome and Apple Safari.

Version 6 offers even more options and flexibility in key areas of the theme affecting branding, product discovery and conversion; the header, footer, product detail page, product media gallery and cart all include new features and additional options.

Added

  • Added several new features and settings to the Header. Firstly, Header Promo Images (now called Feature Cards) can now be included in the mobile menu drawer. You will find a new setting in each block to turn this on/off. We have added an accordion display option on the menu drawer, as an alternative to the horizontal sliding menu. We've also added several other new features to the header, including drawer text alignment, additinal typography settings, option to include "Shop All" links on mobile, and additional border settings. All these new features are aimed to give even more control and flexibility to merchants over this key area of a store.
  • Added several new features and settings to the Footer including additional border settings, additional typography settings, and a horizontal spacing setting which applies when the footer includes multiple columns. We've also added an optional sub footer menu which can be added. This is useful for links such as careers, sustainability or even designer/agency credits. Social media icons within the footer can now have a border if a less minimal look is preferred. We've also improved and refined the footer to improve the overall look, especially on mobile.
  • Added several new features to the Product template and implemented several refinements and improvements. New features include mobile-specific padding settings and other additional style settings.
  • The product description accordion can now be set to be open by default, if preferred.
  • The product pop-up now has a width setting and has been improved so the sizing scales better to the content within the pop-up.
  • The product share block now uses native sharing for improved usability.
  • Added a text alignment setting for the product page pick-up section. This can be found within the Buy Buttons block.
  • Added additional settings to the product page media gallery. New settings include a new zoom in/out feature, additional carousel arrow style options, and the option to hide carousel arrows on desktop until rollover, and the option to set the iconography color and background color of the modal.
  • Added an icon only display option to the Quick Add component for merchants who want a more minimal UI style.
  • Added vertical spacing setting on the Image Banner and Video Banner sections. This new setting controls the vertical space between text and graphical elements, giving the option to increase or decrease white space.
  • Added additional height settings to the Collection Banner section, including the option to set the height separately for mobile. These new settings will help merchants have more control over images within the banner.
  • We've added a search field to the market selector pop-up to improve the user experience. The search field automatically displays when the list contains 15 or more markets, allowing users to find their market more easily.
  • Added a list corner radius setting in the main theme settings. This new setting gives control over the appearance/styling of lists such as market selectors.
  • Added additional settings for the cart. Merchants can now turn on/off dynamic checkout buttons in the cart footer, and turn on/off the 'View cart' button within the cart drawer. We've also added a sticky mobile cart option, and new style options for the cart summary - you can now choose from outline, background tint or none. You will find these new settings in the cart template and within the cart section of the main theme settings.
  • On the Featured Product Styles section, we've added a 9:16 aspect ratio option, in keeping with trends on instagram and other social media platforms, making it easier to have consistency with your social media platforms if required.

Fixes and other improvements

  • On search, unavailable products are now included in results.
  • Fixed an issue on the Password page which prevented the password link from working correctly.
  • Modified the handling of iFrame embedded videos into pages to prevent page layout issues.
  • We've refined some of the theme iconography to make it crisper and more premium.
  • We've updated the product gallery coding to ensure compatibility with the latest versions of Chrome and Safari, and to optimize the speed of image loading to be even faster. We also fixed a bug on product page gallery in carousel mode, which resulted in the wrong thumbnail being highlighted. Thumbnails now highlight correctly.
  • We've fixed an issue that was affecting gift notes on the cart.
  • We've fixed an issue with email sign-up forms that was only affecting certain stores using unusual custom fonts, causing text to be cut off.
  • We've improved spacing and margins on the Collection Lookbook section and Shop The Look section.
  • Content Cards are now included on the homepage template by default. Remove or hide the section if not required.

Luxe Version 5.1.0 features a number of updates, fixes and improvements. We recommend that all merchants update to this latest version to continue getting the best out of Luxe.

Added

  • We've added a new section; Content Cards. This dynamic, flexible section can be used to display visual cards in a grid layout, with each card linking to any page, collection or product. A wide range of design and layout options are included for the cards themselves and the section layout, including a choice of an equal grid or a more editorial style asymmetrical layout.
  • We've added global settings for grid spacing on mobile. On previous versions of Luxe, mobile grid spacing was automatically calculated, but now it can be set exactly. By adding this specific setting, merchants now have more control to fine tune mobile grid layouts separately from desktop.
  • We've improved the Password page. It now includes the option of an email sign-up form, additional layout options, and the option to hide the password link if preferred.
  • On collection pages, we have added margin and grid spacing settings. This provides more flexibility on the layout, including the possibility of a full bleed (no page margin) layout.
  • On the product template, we've added additional options for the inventory status. You can now choose to show a status message or a quantity number, and you can also choose to color code the information if wanted.
  • On the Multicolumn section, we've added the option of a horizontal slides layout on mobile. This can be useful on pages with a large number of columns where a horizontal scrolling layout might be more optimal or user-friendly on mobile.

Fixes and other improvements

  • We've made a number of subtle improvements to the Header, including optimization of the logo component to make logos appear sharper. We've also optimized the header layout, spacing and iconography to ensure an optimal layout and appearance across all header configurations.
  • We've improved the Collection List section with refinements, optimizations and additional settings relating to layout and image position. This update offers more flexibility and an improved overall aesthetic, especially on mobile.
  • We've improved vertical spacing on footer link list accordions on mobile.
  • We've improved accuracy of media aspect ratios on the product page, when margins are applied.
  • We've refined and improved the layout of store information on the Pick-up Availability drawer.
  • We've fixed a bug that prevented videos from autoplaying properly on the Featured Product Styles section, and we've also fixed a minor issue with the product price display on this section.
  • We've fixed an issue with Quick Add not opening correctly, that was affecting a small number of stores.

Luxe Version 5.0.0 provides some exciting new features along with some fixes and improvements. We've added even more video sections and more design flexibility for merchants. We recommend that all users update to this latest version to continue getting the best out of Luxe.

Added

  • Move your brand: We have added a range of image animation options to the Image Banner and Slideshow sections, allowing you to bring still images to life with movement effects. Images can be set to pan horizontally, pan vertically, zoom in or zoom out. Each effect is subtle and smooth to give a premium feel.
  • We have improved the Slideshow section by adding several new features including a new option of video slides. We have also added a 'Media scale’ setting which gives more control over image scaling and cropping by allowing media to be contained within the space rather than always filling the full width of the screen. This is especially useful for displaying portrait or square images, or if you simply wish to eliminate image cropping across different screen sizes. To retain a 'full bleed' visual style, keep the media scale set to the default setting of 'Cover'. We have also increased the number of image slides that can be added to a Slideshow from 6 to 8.
  • We have added additional settings to the Header to offer even more control over layout and styling of the header and dropdown menus. The new settings include dropdown horizontal position options, vertical spacing for dropdown menu lists, a choice of rollover style for dropdown menu links, and a choice of size for dropdown image headings. We have also added a setting for the foreground color on the transparent header; this can now be set to white or unchanged to give more flexibility (such as using a transparent header in combination with light background banner images). In this update we have also fine-tuned the columns sizing for dropdown menus to improve the layout across various mega menu configurations.
  • The Collection Sub Navigation has been enhanced - you can now include collection images with each menu item. If enabled, you can also choose the aspect ratio of the images including a circular option.
  • The Collection List section has been updated to include a new style setting; you can now choose from 'text' (default) or 'pill' for the list link style.
  • We have added a setting for drawer header border. You will find this within the main theme settings.

Removed

  • We have removed the horizontal spacing option within the Collection Cards section. Instead, the horizontal spacing now follows the global theme settings, ensuring the column spacing matches other sections for more uniform layouts. This update makes the set-up of this section faster and easier.

Fixes and other improvements

  • We've fixed an issue that prevented multiple videos auto-playing when multiple Featured Product sections were added to the same page.
  • We've improved and optimized the layout of the Collection Lookbook, Image with Text and Video with Text sections when viewed on iPad and iPad Pro devices. This update improves the scale of images and videos on these sections when viewed on these popular devices.
  • We've fixed some layout issues on the Quick Add overlay to improve the scaling on desktop screens.
  • We've made a number of other minor visual refinements and optimizations to the theme.
