The before/after section can now be controlled with the left/right arrows (or up/down in vertical mode), which helps improving the accessibility.
The "scrolling content" section now has an optional "pause on hover" setting that, when enabled, will pause the automatic rotation when the content is hovered.
Changed
On version 9.2, we added a new setting for the Slideshow section that allows to turn off the initial slide transition when page loads, to show the content as soon as possible and reduce the LCP performance (largest contentful paint) metric. We have found that removing the initial transition divided nearly by 2 the LCP for the home page, so we decided to make this the default starting from the version 9.3.0, to ensure that merchants get the best possible performance by default.
Merchants who want to prioritize animation over performance will now need to enable the "Show initial transition" setting on slideshow section.
Removed
Shopify has deprecated the usage of multiple colors for metaobject collection filtering, and this feature has been removed from our theme. This feature was launched a few months ago but has not been adopted by merchants yet, so this removal should not impact most of the merchants.
Versione 9.2.1 March 11, 2024
Fixed
We have fixed some edge cases for the new "Hide on scroll" feature introduced in latest version 9.2.0.
Versione 9.2.0 March 7, 2024
Added
There is now a new "Hide on scroll" feature on the header. This new setting allows to have the header automatically hide when the user is scrolling down to give more space to the content, and reveal again once scrolling up.
The slideshow section now has a new "Show initial transition" setting. You can turn off this setting to remove the initial fade transition that appears when the slideshow become visible. Turning off the initial transition can help to reduce the LCP performance metric and slightly improve the perceived performance. This can be especially useful if the slideshow section is on the first position. This new setting gives merchant more flexibility on whether they want to prioritize performance or design.
Fixed
Fixed an issue for the "Image with text block" section where the ratio of the image would be incorrect when configured as original aspect ratio, with parallax enabled and without any text (which is, admitedly, a rather edge case).
Fixed an issue that could cause the countdown timer flips to show too wide on mobile.
Improved
Slightly improved the performance by ensuring that sections that are typically used in footer (multi-column and media grid) now always have the images lazy-loaded when used in the footer.
When the media grid section is used in the footer, images are now always lazyloaded.
