Have just modified our store from the old Debut to Sense. It works fine, but it has several issues that really need to be resolved. 1. has too many layout shifts that Lightspeed/Gtmetrix keeps highlighting. E.g. Image with Text, classes; header__inline-menu and header__heading 2. While I realise that a site load time depends on its content, I believe Debut was a faster theme to load.
Hello and happy new year! Site speed indicators work better for traditionally structured websites, and for your Shopify site we recommend assessing the load time of the page yourself. If the page is taking longer than 2 seconds to load, you might need to consider removing some apps/scripts. Compare with a clean installation of the theme to see if yours is taking longer to load
I can't get over how basic the Rich Text editor is. On product pages you can add all the standard stuff such as Images, Video, HTML etc. as one would expect, but anywhere else the editor is basic AF, only allowing you to bold and italicize text. This means you can't add in-line images to your homepage without hiring a developer, which I find absolutely ludicrous.
Hi there, thanks for this feedback! At this time a workaround is to use the Page section instead of the Rich Text section. The Page section allows you to source content from a Page created in Online store > Pages, where you can use the full-fledged Rich Text editor to style your content. See https://bit.ly/3RaxGIJ and https://bit.ly/3UEdEcK for examples
I really love Sense! However, I would love it if I could change more things such as making the mega menu includes images etc. I would also like to have 2 menus in my header. Other than that really good to use, and easy to setup.
Hi! Having images in your menu makes it take up more vertical space, increasing the time it takes to scroll the content (see https://bit.ly/3DGJkrN). More often than not it actually hinders a customer's experience. You could use an app such as Buddha Mega Menu (https://bit.ly/3Lpt1Bz) to implement this and to choose how many menus you have in your header!
I think this theme fits my needs perfectly. It's easy to modify and navigate. I'm not into coding so the ability to make changes without having to enter code is great. This is the second theme I've used for my store and I must say that this one is much better than my first.
Hey! Thanks for the feedback and we are glad you're enjoying Sense. Having sections and blocks definitely give you more control over your theme without having to touch the code. You can check out our help document (https://bit.ly/3ziO18P) for more information on sections and blocks!
