I've been a shopify expert for over a decade, worked with almost every theme out there. Showcase is one of my favourites for all the built in features and flexibility. But the most important part is the theme support, the Clean Canvas crew will ensure you are taken care of, even going out of their way to have Shopify correct issues on their end when most theme developers would have passed the buck
This theme has not been updated for a long time, do you have any update plans?
Hi Kylie! The good news about Showcase! It's a stable theme that rarely needs bug fixes or updates. But we've been busy working on a big 2023 update for Showcase, improving performance and adding exciting new sections/features which will drop in 2023. A more minor release will drop in the next coming weeks before that so stay tuned ✌️
For our new website, we were looking for a theme that already has many functions integrated and where the design is high-quality and modern. The support from Clean Canvas is also very good. All problems were solved. Keep it up!

I had a little problem with some blank spaces on my website with the last update of our theme and the development team helped us very well and fixed the problem super fast. I highly recommend it.

The country/currency dropdowns have been updated to support Shopify Markets, and some other minor updates.
Changed
- The Header and Footer currency dropdown now supports Shopify Markets.
- The settings for Swatches has moved from "Theme Settings > Products" to "Theme Settings > Swatches".
- The default setting for the "When 'Add to Cart' is clicked" setting has changed. Applies to the Product Page and Featured Product section.
Fixes and improvements
- The theme now provides greater support for third party inventory handling.

We’ve improved the product page, adding settings to allow for less scrolling through imagery and increased visibility of the product details.
Added
- Product page - New 'Media Grouping' settings allow for only the media associated with the selected variant to be shown.
- Product page - Added a 'Carousel' option to the 'Display style' setting to reduce the amount of scrolling needed on the page.
- Product page - Added a 'Collage' option to the 'Display style' setting to give product pages a different look.
- Product page - Added an 'Inventory level' block for greater flexibility when displaying product inventory.
- Product page - Added an 'Image zoom cursor' setting to allow customization of the mouse cursor which indicates product image zooming is available.
- Product page - Added setting to control how the product details stick on scroll. This allows the product details to be visible sooner when scrolling down.
- Theme Setting - Added 'Crop image to shape' setting in 'Theme Settings > Products' to provide a better look and feel for inconsistently sized product images.
Changed
- Product page - Thumbnails have moved to the top of the page.
- Product page - The "When 'Add to Cart' is clicked" setting has moved to the 'Buy buttons/quantity' block.
- Product page - The 'Show a sticky Add to Cart button on mobile' setting has moved to the 'Buy buttons/quantity' block.
- Header section - Limited the height of the announcement bar on mobile.
- Featured product section - The layout has been updated to be consistent with the new 'Carousel' view on the product page.
- Presets - Button colors are now set explicitly in all presets.
Removed
- Product page - Removed the next/previous links which used to show when viewing a product having come from a collection page.
- Product page - Most of the 'Inventory' settings have been removed in favor of the new 'Inventory level' block.
- Theme Settings - Removed the 'Enable parallax on product images' setting from the 'Animation' theme settings.
Fixes and improvements
- Product page - Fixed issue with the maximum width of 'Trust icons'
- Product page - Fixed issue where the media controls of the 'Video' section could overlap the sticky 'Add to cart' button on mobile.
- Product page - Fixed issue where the 'View in your space' button didn't show.
- Header section - Fixed issue where the 'Navigation' font weight in 'Typography' settings was not being used.
- Header section - Fixed issue where the menu didn't centralize correctly if language and currency settings were switched on but no languages or currencies had been set up.
- Search page - Fixed issue where clicking on a swatch thumbnail didn't open the product page on the correct variant.
- Collection list section - Fixed visual issue when the 'Collage' layout is chosen.
