I have been using this theme for several years and yet no automatic theme update made available. This is not good for business as this can increase bot activity and attacks on the website. There should be a way where the theme can be easily updated at any time.

This is incorrect. Older (pre-2021) theme versions can not auto update - this is a Shopify wide limitation and not something the theme controls. Post 2021 theme versions can auto update, your store is using a very old theme version that pre-dates Shopifys own update capabilities. Theme version wouldn't have anything to do with bots at all.
