Version 3.0.0 August 7, 2024

Luxe Version 3.0.0 includes several key improvements to the theme options, and also includes a number of refinements to improve the theme visual design, usability and functionality.

Added

  • We've improved layout options for tablet; key theme sections now include separate layout options specifically for tablet devices, to give merchants more flexibility and control over layout.
  • We've added additional position options for product badges within product cards. We've also added a global setting for text case on product badges.
  • We've added an option to show arrow icons on the desktop dropdown menu, for merchants who prefer a visual indicator here.
  • We've added a setting in the header to choose the width of the desktop dropdown. You can now choose 'adapt to menu contents' for a smaller style dropdown, if preferred. This new option is better suited to single level dropdown menus rather than larger scale menus.
  • We've added a setting to choose the image size for desktop dropdown images within the header section. This gives merchants more flexibility to adjust the image size to fit best with the scale of menu lists. We've also added a portrait 4:6 aspect ratio option.
  • We've added the option of enabling Quick Add on the Related Products section.
  • On Collection filters, we've added a setting to turn on/off visual filters and to choose the shape of the visual filter swatch, to give merchants control over this feature. Note: visual features do still require the creation of custom metaobjects and metadata.
  • We've added a setting to control the vertical spacing of blocks on the product page, giving merchants more fine control over vertical spacing between product information and interactive elements. We've also added the option of adding top/bottom borders to the product variant selector and quantity selector blocks.
  • We've added improved border options on the main product section. This update enables merchants to create improved visual framing to the bottom of the main product section, if and when required.
  • We've added more layout and content options to the Password page - you can now choose the image position, button style and include social media icons/links.
  • We've added carousel arrow style options into each theme section.

Changed

  • We've modified the settings for button padding to give improved control over the size of buttons.
  • We've modified the way dropdown menu images work, so that multiple images can now be inserted into each dropdown menu (with a maximum of two images per dropdown).

Removed

  • Featured product section: We have removed the tag text field. Instead, this feature now automatically shows product badges associated with the product.

Fixes and other improvements

  • On the Collection Lookbook section we've added separate mobile and desktop padding settings.
  • We've made subtle visual improvements and refinements in various other areas of the theme.

Version 2.0.0 July 23, 2024

Luxe Version 2.0 features a new section, new features and a number of fixes and improvements including even more design, style and layout options. We recommend that all merchants update to this version to benefit from these updates.

Added

  • New section: Featured product styles. This new section is designed to show lifestyle images or videos along with featured products. It is perfect to showcase community or social media content featuring your products, or simply to show products (or bundles of products) within a lifestyle setting to inspire your customers. The section includes a range of layout and display settings to provide flexibility. Each gallery item can feature a video or image along with up to three products. Optional hotspots can be included to highlight each product within the image.
  • Slideshow: We've added the option to add a mobile-specific image to each slide, which enables more precise control over image composition and cropping on mobile.
  • Collection sub navigation: Added a choice of style; text links or pills.
  • Product description: We've added the option of indenting the first paragraph to give an additional editorial design style to the text.
  • Product page: We've added additional style options when inserting a text block into the product page. You can now set background color, border and corner radius. This makes this block more flexible for adding messages or information to your product pages, for example calling out a special offer.
  • Added a global setting for pills style.
  • Filters: We've added global style settings for the filter button. You now have the option to show an icon (by default this is shown), and choose the button style (text or pill).
  • Image banner: We've added the option to make the entire banner a clickable link (independent of buttons within the banner).
  • Section headers and footers: We've added a setting to set the vertical spacing for section headers and footers, to give merchants more control over white space.
  • Featured collection: We've added a choice of layout style for the products; you can now choose carousel (default) or grid.
  • Search: We've added the choice of whether to include collections within predictive search results.

Fixes and other improvements

  • Announcment bar: We've added a new animation option; vertical slide.
  • Pop-up: We've improved the editing experience for the Pop-up. It now displays when it is selected in the editor, but is otherwise within the editor to prevent it displaying whilst editing other sections.
  • Header and menu: We've added more style controls over font sizes and styles; you can now set the text case and font size for the desktop dropdown menu separately from the main menu list. We've also added additional style settings for the menu drawer list - you can now turn off borders, if preferred, resulting in a more minimal menu list style. Vertical spacing can also be controlled. These new options allow you to fine tune the look of your menu to even greater precision.
  • Footer: We've added some useful options for the naming format of the country selector to give merchants more choice. You can now choose whether to display a country in name or code format, whether to display a currency symbol, and your preference of labelling. This update will be of interest to any merchant selling across international markets. We have also fixed an issue with the link list not displaying on mobile.
  • Collection grid: We've fixed an issue to enable a one column layout on mobile. This fix applies to collection pages and search results pages.
  • Blog post: The article excerpt can now be shown when the header image is set to 'banner', and we've added a choice of font size for the main heading (medium, large or XL) for improved flexibility over the visual style of the header.
  • Video section: We've fixed an issue with the button alignment.
  • Header: We've fixed an issue to ensure font sizes match when search and cart are both set as words.
  • Drawers: We've added an option to set the heading alignment.

Version 1.1.0 June 25, 2024

We've made some subtle design improvements, fixed some minor visual issues and fixed an important issue with the footer country/language selector. We recommend that all users update to the latest version to benefit from these new features and fixes.

Added

  • Added the option of showing the header bar border on the transparent header bar prior to page scroll. This adds an additional style option for merchants who prefer a more framed visual look to the header on initial home page load.
  • Added top and bottom padding settings for the footer logo block. This allows clear space around the logo to be controlled to a greater degree of precision.
  • Added a choice of animation style on the announcement bar. There is now a choice of 'fade' or 'slide'.
  • Added a choice of body font or navigation font for the footer menus.
  • Added asymmetric text alignment option on the image banner section heading block.
  • Added a full width option for the button on items within the multicolumn section.
  • Added additional style options to the Footer information bar. A horizontal spacing option is now included and an option to choose the height of the keylines.

Fixes and other improvements

  • Important: Fixed an issue in the footer whereby the country/language selector was not displaying unless policies were also set to be shown. The country/language selectors will now display correctly, irrespective of whether policies are shown. This is an important update for any merchant with multiple languages enabled on their store.
  • Improved and optimized the asymmetric text alignment option within the video banner and image banner heading block.
  • Modified the style of the product modal pop-up title, so the title is now visually stronger/larger.
  • Modified link style on multicolumn items.
  • Modified button color on image banner and video banner to improve the default setting.
  • Improved and optimized the color of article tags to look better across different theme color schemes.
  • Improved spacing on Multicolumn section.
  • Improved spacing on Footer information bar section.
  • Minor visual design optimization to header bar and desktop dropdowns.
  • Improved scale/size of cross link thumbnails on product page to match the chosen media aspect ratio.
  • Improved the theme editing experience when editing the announcement bar. Changes made in the theme editor are now immediately visible without requiring to save.
